Monaca, PA- In an exciting season opener, Christendom College's women's volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against Penn State Beaver at the Beaver Field House on August 29, 2025. The match, which began at 7:00 PM, showcased a strong performance from Christendom, who managed to overcome a first-set loss to win the next three sets.
The first set saw Penn State Beaver taking an early lead, winning 25-22. However, Christendom quickly regrouped and demonstrated resilience by clinching the next three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-16, respectively.
For Penn State Beaver, Bryanna Neiberg was a prominent figure, leading her team with eight kills and ten service aces, totaling 18 points. Julianna Butler also delivered a strong performance with seven kills and a remarkable hitting percentage of .875.
Christendom's overall attack percentage was .150, while Penn State Beaver struggled with a negative attack percentage of -.069. This discrepancy highlighted Christendom's more effective offensive strategy and execution.
Despite the loss, Penn State Beaver showed moments of promise, particularly in the first set, and will look to build on these as they progress through the season.
