Penn State Beaver and Ohio Christian University split a doubleheader on Thursday, with Ohio Christian taking an 8–6 decision in Monaca, Pennsylvania before the Lions bounced back with a 5–1 win at Beaver Field. In the opener, Penn State Beaver showed resilience despite falling short in a back-and-forth contest. After allowing an early run, the Lions answered with two in the first inning to take a 2–1 lead. Ohio Christian responded with a five-run surge across the second and third innings to move ahead 6–2, capitalizing on timely hitting and defensive miscues. Beaver quickly fought back in the bottom of the third, as Haley Cook delivered a two-RBI single and Reese Riordan added another run-scoring hit to cut the deficit to one. The Lions completed the comeback in the fourth inning when Haydan Baucan's RBI groundout tied the game at 6–6. The game settled into a defensive battle over the next few innings, with Beaver drawing walks and creating chances but unable to push across the go-ahead run. Ohio Christian broke through in the eighth, using an RBI single and capitalizing on an outfield error before adding another run on a go-ahead hit to secure the 8–6 win. Jaiden Patterson led the Lions offensively in the opener with a double and a triple, while Cook drove in two runs in the comeback effort.
Penn State Beaver responded in the second game with a strong all-around performance. The Lions set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning. Kierstyn Mays drove in the opening run with a single, Reza Benson followed with an RBI groundout, and Mackenzie Boyd added a sacrifice fly to give Beaver a 3–0 advantage. The Lions added to their lead in the second inning when Patterson lined an RBI single to make it 4–0. From there, Beaver settled into a steady rhythm behind Mays, who controlled the game in the circle and limited Ohio Christian's scoring opportunities. Beaver extended the lead in the sixth inning as Mays delivered another RBI single, pushing the advantage to 5–0. Ohio Christian scored once in the seventh to avoid the shutout, but the Lions closed it out to secure the 5–1 victory. Mays led the way in game two, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs while also tossing a complete game, allowing just one run and striking out three. Patterson and Benson each added an RBI, and the Lions combined disciplined at-bats with error-free defense to earn the split.
