Beaver Erupts After Halftime in Convincing Road Win
Penn State Beaver paired efficient shooting with constant defensive pressure to take control on the road Saturday, breaking the game open after halftime.
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver secured an 89–51 road win at Penn State New Kensington on February 7, 2026, taking a 29–19 lead into halftime before erupting for 60 second-half points to pull away. Beaver's offense was efficient throughout, finishing 34-of-64 from the field (53.1%) and 11-of-27 from three (40.7%), while also forcing a high volume of turnovers that fueled the margin.
Jabari Gayle led the way with 17 points on an ultra-efficient 8-of-11 shooting in just 18 minutes. Ny'zir Dix added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, and Trevor Franklin chipped in 11 points. Beaver also got balanced production off the bench: Ronyell Coston scored 9 points (including 2-of-2 from three), DJ Baker had 7 points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting with 4 steals, and Teon Wynn Jr. contributed 5 points on 2-of-2 shooting. As a team, Beaver posted 15 assists and 14 steals, and committed only 3 turnovers—an overwhelming advantage in ball security.
The second half turned into a runaway as Beaver's pressure and perimeter shooting stretched the game beyond reach. With multiple players scoring efficiently and the defense creating constant disruption, Penn State Beaver controlled the tempo from start to finish, and left with a decisive 38-point victory.
