Securing a Win on The Road in the New Year, Men's Basketball take 81-67 Victory over Dubois
The Men's Basketball team traveled to ring in the New Year and secured heir first PSUAC victory after the break.
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver went on the road Tuesday night and earned an 81–67 win over Penn State Du Bois on January 13, 2026. Beaver set the tone early, taking a 42–33 lead into halftime, then matched Du Bois point-for-point after the break (39–34) to close out a steady, wire-to-wire type of performance. The visitors' balance showed up in the flow of the game: they consistently generated quality looks, got to the free-throw line, and used activity on the glass to keep possessions alive.
The first half was where Beaver created separation, leaning on efficient scoring and timely perimeter makes to build a nine-point cushion. Du Bois had moments—especially from three-point range—but couldn't string together enough stops to erase the gap before intermission. In the second half, Du Bois continued to compete and briefly threatened with outside shooting, yet Beaver answered with composed offense and enough defensive pressure to prevent any sustained run from turning the game into a one-possession finish.
Beaver's individual production was led by Jermaine Knaff with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Ny'zir Dix delivered a highly efficient 17 points in just 12 minutes. Joe Pinto added 16 points and was disruptive defensively with 4 steals, and Ronyell Coston chipped in 7 points off the bench. On the interior, Trevor Franklin contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Allen Cole provided 6 rebounds to help Beaver win the rebounding battle, 33–28, while also converting 14-of-17 at the line to stabilize the lead.
With the victory, Penn State Beaver improved to 5–10 overall and 3–2 in conference play, continuing to build momentum in league action. Penn State Du Bois fell to 3–11 overall and 1–4 in conference, showing fight and shooting touch from deep but ultimately undone by turnovers and Beaver's ability to control key stretches on the road. The team will take the court again on Friday, January 16th at 8pm in the Beaver Fieldhouse. They will take on Penn State Schuylkill in another PSUAC match-up!
